Discourses and musings from a second Saturn return

This Day Will Not Come Again

Thomas Merton wrote that quote after a particularly meaningful meditation on the Earth. How profound it can be when you filter your moments through a statement like that. This day will not come again. In every encounter through this day it will not happen again. There is no rerun, this is it.
Makes me want to run out quickly and grasp each moment, each person as if I would never see it again, and I won’t, not this exact way. I feel the richness of life, of each moment.
How precious it all becomes, how I wish I could see and be in those ordinary moments with all my family and friends who are no longer here. It would be easy to have regrets but that would pull me out of this once in a life time moment.
Right now I am full of the sights and sensations all around me as I sit here typing on this keyboard and gazing into the screen, reaching out to connect with all of you. We will not have this connection ever again in the same way.

I am alive with feeling and energy as I extend myself out through these words. Each one of you, so precious to me as part of the earthly family we exist in.

Many times we have heard to be in the moment, to seek God in the details of life, so often we just let them be words.

This day will not come again.
