Discourses and musings from a second Saturn return

Fear and Loathing

I received this email and it bothered me so I wanted to share it with all of you and see what your opinions are about it.  Sue

Dear All,

In early December a movie is being released that will be geared toward

children. It stars Nicole Kidman and it’s title is “The Golden Compass”.

It is based on a trilogy of books written by a well known atheist who openly

admits his hatred of God. He is from Britain and not as well known here in

the U.S. This is NOT a rumor. Check out snopes.com and type in the name

of the movie for more info. Long story short, the movie ends with the children

killing God. Is your heart beating fast? Should be.

Please send this to as many people as you can think of. The atheist
message is very subtle in this movie (unlike the book) but it is still
there and parents who are unaware of the hidden message might
unknowingly send their children to this movie…or even take them there
themselves!
Please call our local movie theater’s and voice
your opinion that this type of movie is unwanted in our town!!! If they
know they can’t make money off of it, they will not show it. Thanks for
your help and let’s pray that God will not allow this movie to influence
the minds of impressionable children.
Please pass it on to everyone you know and let our local
theater know how you feel about it. Thanks,

I’ve pasted my reply to this below, Sue

Good Morning,

I have not heard of this gentleman or his books but something smacks of fanaticism here.  That intense fear rigidly holding onto beliefs that then create fanatics.  Just look at the Middle East.  The burning of witches in Salem………………The Inquisition.  Look at the history of the human race.  It has been one of domination and suppression.

Book burnings begin with this type of smear.  As far as religions go we didn’t even get the truth of most of it.  So many religious powers withheld information and distorted much of what was left in order to control the masses.  I’m sure you are aware of this.  And how long did it take the Catholic Church to release the documents on Fatima and other appearances of the Holy Mother?  They still have not released them.  The marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene who church officials decided to make a whore instead of the wife of Jesus, that one has just recently come to Light after 2000 years.

Freedom of belief and choice, that’s what I hold onto.  Everyone is entitled to figure out what their life is all about.  Perhaps this gentleman had a great disappointment in his life and decided that there couldn’t be a God who would allow such a thing.  Who knows?  It is different for us all.  I believe we all do the best that we can.  I also believe that every single one of us is going to get back home to God.  Not one of us will be left behind.  And we get to take as much time as we need.

But we do have the right to speak what we believe, just as you do.  But do not get caught in the trap that you are right.  There is no right or wrong, only the choices we make.  No judgment, just things.  If they work we do them, when they don’t we eventually stop.  Each one of us has the right of our beliefs until we change them.  There is a great Law in the Universe:  for every action there is a reaction-karma.  I don’t think any one human being has enough information to understand the whole of infinity or the evolution of each infinite soul.

I probably will not take my grandson to see this movie.  I would like to see it for myself though, just to see what all the fuss is about.  It seems like this movie has stirred up a lot of fear.  Whenever fear is the motivating factor it will draw in anger, hatred, frustration, fanaticism etc.

It is time for us all to love our Shadows into the Light.  It is the only way any of us will heal.  Not from fear and loathing, but compassion and love.

Well, hit one of my buttons of  “us against them”.  Just my opinion.      Sue

I thought Sue was very on target with her comments. When we judge something SO VEHEMENTLY (sight unseen) based upon someone else’s opinion we also give away our personal power of choice.

Aside from which, how can an Atheist “openly admit his hatred of God” when atheists deny the existence of god? You cannot hate that which you do not believe exists. It appears to me that this man’s words and intent have already been twisted; this would further cause me to distrust what “THEY” say about the movie.
