Prepare to self-indulge, it’s what Taurus is best at! But a New Moon in Taurus might just be the time that you need to look at how you don’t indulge yourself enough. Taurus, ruled by loving Venus wants you to love and indulge yourself in things that make you feel really good! If you are in any sort of battle of the wills (thanks to all those planets in Aries!) you may need to step away as Taurus energy can become quite stubborn and you may refuse to yield to anyone or thing causing more ego related problems (again, thanks to Aries). But, it’s May and it is starting to look and feel like it, so feel good and enjoy every part of your life. Skipping and humming are highly recommended.

Expect a few bumps in the road even though it is a lovely month full of flowers and warmer weather.  Uranus (unexpected) is next to Lilith (shadows) and that can bring up some unusual behaviors in people.  Because they are in the sign of Aries, look for brash and rash behaviors to come out of nowhere.  We are feeling the deep pull of Pluto retrograde till 9/16/11.  What this will allow you to do is mull over what the lessons from Pluto are-that you can regenerate from anything if you are willing to put in the work.  There is a nice infusion of planets in Taurus this month that feels a little indulgent even lazy at times and we all deserve that once in a while.  Take advantage of the strength that Jupiter (abundance) and Mars (power) are giving you the first half of the month.  For all there is an awakening happening and that is the Neptune into Pisces for many years to come.  Don’t fight that, let go of what you can, and embrace the future of a kinder and more inclusive planet.  It starts with each of us, no kindness is too small to effect change.  Think kind thoughts for the world and all of it’s peoples.

Because this was a Super Moon, it will be affecting us for months to come. Full Moon’s increase our emotional depth and open us up to greater experience.

Let go of perceptions and relationships that divert you from the ideals and visions you really care about. As with past weeks, the coming two weeks are about clarity and compassion, repair work and new openings, and seeing your unique qualities that the world can recognize and reward consistently.

Another Super Full Moon and time to enjoy it in lovely Libra. There is still all that pressure from so many planets in take charge Aries, and you might feel a little pulled from that opposition, however, you create your reality and you get to say when enough is enough. Libra is quite social and this would be a good time to contact some people you like that you haven’t seen for a while. The Mercury retrograde (over 4/23-phew!) supports re-visiting, re-doing, re-focusing and all the “re” words. So, during this Full Moon, relax and re-kindle whatever your heart desires. April heralds one of the big events of 2011, and that is the entrance of Neptune into the sign it rules, Pisces, to stay until 2025. Aries New Moon Called Off

Dear Friend and Reader:

In an extraordinary step, the Masters of the Universe have canceled Sunday’s Aries New Moon. “It seems like a big deal to you, but it’s pretty much nothing for us. We took a look at the front page of The New York Times and thought the better of it,” said one of the Masters, who with his colleagues has presided over the Earth for the past 6,500 years.

“Frankly, it was a really bad idea to schedule this New Moon for right now,” the Master continued, speaking on the condition of anonymity. He said he had consulted his longtime personal astrologer, Flo Higgins of Rumson, N.J., before making the decision. He added, “We thought you would have some fun with it, but obviously not the way things are going now. What a mess.”

The potentially dangerous combination of influences involves a New Moon combined with the Jupiter-Saturn opposition, at the same time that Mars is exactly conjunct Uranus right on the Aries Point. “That’s just buggered, especially with those Japanese nuclear power plants and a few thousand tons of spent fuel still on the brink of turning to plutonium soup,” he added.

“Plus, Mercury is retrograde,” Flo Higgins said.

A spokesperson for ascended master Sanat Kumara, reached on the outskirts of Shamballa where he was recreating with the Lords of Karma, said yesterday that, “It would have been a fantastic opportunity if you guys had a faint clue how to hang loose. We’ve never seen people so freaked out, and this is the 14th time we’ve observed the evolution of humanity. I know you’re thinking, ‘the world is so messed up, how can I relax?’, but consider this. You’re not going to make any progress till you have your wits about you. Half of you don’t even know you’re alive.”

Sources close to the decision noted that currently there are a number of people on Earth who are trying to destroy the planet who would not have responded well to the New Moon, despite the fact that it was supposed to be conjunct Jupiter. The polarization of the Jupiter-Saturn opposition — the two largest planets opposite one another, with the Earth in the middle — plus Mars and Uranus lining up, was clearly a recipe for planetary psychosis.

Short on leads for this article, last night I went on a reporting mission to Club 55 on K Street in Washington, DC., looking for my friend Marvin, who is an energy lobbyist. The last time I was there, he gave me an earful about why we need to get rid of daylight savings time, just to waste more oil.

Before I could find Marvin, who I don’t really like anyway, a dancer I know named Tanya saw me as I came in through the door. She walked over and whispered in my ear, “Majeston.” Then she winked, kissed me on the cheek and strutted away, swaying her hips tantalizingly.

Of course! I knew he was a professor of astrology at the College of Uversa, a nonphysical academy that prepares souls to be astrologers as they pass through the 7th dimension. He said that during the past week he had assisted with the decision as a consultant and was familiar with the issues that were considered.

“We had to spring this on you fast, but actually, it fits with the astrology,” Majeston said. “With Mars conjunct Uranus, you know something a little different was going to happen on fairly short order. Doesn’t anybody actually read these charts?”

Majeston added that despite suspending the New Moon, normal evolutionary processes would continue at least through June 2012, when the Masters would assess whether anyone was getting the benefits of the current planetary alignments. “We thought you would all be having a lot more fun by now. We thought you would get bored of people who spend all their time trying to jerk you around with fear,” he added. “In short, we were pretty sure that by now most of you would have a clue.”

“Seems like the only place anyone knows how to have a good time is in Madison, Wisconsin — or Thailand,” he added. I took notes feverishly as Majeston went on.

This does not help. Repeat, this does not help. Staring at yourself critically does not make you more beautiful. According to Yavanna, you just need to relax and be yourself. It’s okay, you can do it.
“Obviously you don’t get it. Anxiety is boring. We had no idea humans, in their infinite adaptability, would figure out a way to make it into a fascination. Let’s put it this way. It’s possible to get a flat tire while you’re on a road trip and have that be an interesting experience. Okay, that is creativity. But who would want a flat tire every day just for the fun of it? Or spend your whole life worrying about it? That is the basic state of humanity. You guys are a piece of work.”

He suggested that I contact Olooma, one of the Ancients of Days, for additional information. “He’s got time to talk to you. He just chills out all the time,” Majeston said.

I found Olooma in his usual spot in the 9th dimension, reclining next to his fountain of light surrounded by spectral divas. “Most humans are fitted with a version of the ego that’s full of bugs,” he said. “Just about everyone is using Version 6.3. That one was a disaster. We’re now up to 10.6 and that works a lot better. You should try it out. We’ve enhanced color sensitivity and music appreciation.” He added that the newer, upgraded egos are more sensitive to solar-lunar events and can feel the presence of Jupiter as something besides alcohol.

Yavanna, Queen of the Earth and Giver of Fruits, said that humanity’s struggle involved pleasure anxiety. “It’s blocking your intelligence,” she said. “I actually mean this. It’s sad how many of you are proud of how prissy you are, but it’s not doing a thing for you, except to keep you in a mental fog.” She said she hoped that the temporary respite from the intense astrology of the past two years would give people an opportunity mellow out for a few days.

“Play some music or have sex,” she added. “Man, I just don’t get it. You people love to waste your time on nothing when you could be consummating creative bliss with every waking hour.”

Astrologers Around the World React

Tracy Delaney, programmer of the Serennu.com website, discovered that to “cancel” the New Moon, the Moon would station retrograde shortly before the planned conjunction to the Sun. In order to do that, however, the Moon would have to be declared void-of-course from August 2001 through January 2016, “which explains a lot,” she said.

Doing the calculations for the extremely rare lunar retrograde this week, she went through three quarts of vodka, eight pots of coffee, two laptops and a box of stress balls.

“It was ugly, and it took a while” she said, brushing her hair out of her face, “but I sodding figured it out. Actually my daughter Alys did when she made a joke about Black Moon Lilith, and that cracked the formula.”

According to The Wall Street Journal, programmers at Time Cycles Research were furious at the decision because it meant their software would be inaccurate. They responded by stripping all the asteroids out of their newest edition.

At Astrolabe, publishers of Solar Fire, frenzied telephone operators handled hundreds of panicked inquiries from confused customers, many of whom asked if this involved the new 13th sign.

Despite the obvious logic of canceling the Aries New Moon, many Earthly astrologers were confounded by the decision.

“That’s gonna be a little weird,” said Adonis Moonchild of Goddess Girl astrology in Phoenix, who is a voracious columnist for StarIQ and huge fan of Jeff Jawer. “There hasn’t been a lunar retrograde since 11 ice ages ago, but I guess they have to do what they have to do. But I don’t think it’s a good idea. It was havoc for the trilobites.”

Richard Noelle, one of the world’s most talented astrologers, said, “This goes to show that horoscope columns are pure garbage.”

Reached by satellite phone in Mesopotamia, Chris Brennan, who is bravely leading an expedition of thousands of bright young astrologers into the Dark Ages, said that he did not want to interpret the chart until he had calculated the time lords, which would take until August.

Later that day, I found Richard Tarnas out in the lobby and asked him what he thought. “Subtracting the Aries New Moon is like the archetype of the empty self. It fits the modern zeitgeist perfectly,” he said, adding that he would cover this in his next book, which comes out in 2025. “We’re in the midst of quadrature alignment of Uranus and Pluto but it’s awfully quiet. It feels like Christmas morning but only the mice are awake,” he said.

Jose Arguelles was available for a conversation over peyote buttons spiced with cannabis indica. “From my new perspective on the Other Side, I can tell you that time has actually run out. You people have already gone over the edge, into the void. That’s why everything seems so crazy. Your fragile logic of time has fallen apart. You must step out of time and you’ll be happier.”

In Truth, Coyote Stole the Moon

Intergalactic astrologer, modern day shaman and top-secret consultant Philip Sedgwick noted that the Masters of the Universe who claim to have made this decision had only been in charge for 6,500 years, which suggested a bias toward Judeo-Christian thinking.

“I became concerned when I went into the backyard to check my sundial on the first 90-degree day of the year, and I noticed that it was off kilter. I thought it had to do with the pole displacement due to the quakes. But it seems that time has been reset, not that the New Moon has been canceled.”

“I’m even more worried about the New Moon in Taurus a month from now when we have seven planets in Aries counting Eris, of course. According to the Northwest Indians, Raven will steal the Sun. So people will be totally in the dark, as usual.”

“That’s a good thing,” said Emma Langley, a receptionist at the local eye doctor, commenting reluctantly. “I’m a very non-controversial person. I like my life that way, no matter what the Masters of the Universe think.”

Amidst Retrogrades, Planetary Action Heats Up

April 1, 2011 Northampton, MA (AP) — Following close on the heels of recent rolling revolutions in many of Earth’s countries — thought by most astrologers to have been sparked by Uranus aspects — the next wave of the ‘Twitter revolution’ phenomenon went cosmic.

As soon as the Masters of the Universe decided to pull the April 3 New Moon, planetary tweets, including posts from planets orbiting other stars throughout the galaxy, began coming in at such high volumes that Twitter’s servers actually crashed. One source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, suggested the white-hat hacker group Anonymous might have been responsible for the crash. However, the official word from Twitter is that since the tweets from beyond our solar system took many hundreds of thousands of light years to get to Earth’s Internet, it is likely a simple case of a non-compatibility issue caused by grossly outdated formatting.

Tweets posted before the crash, however, indicate another factor: Mercury’s latest move to retrograde motion. Now that everyone can know anyone’s whereabouts and status in a blink of an eye instead of an aeon, we’re seeing trends move faster. Even non-retrograding bodies like the Moon, suddenly released from her duties on Sunday, have decided to join initially-reluctant Mercury in the revolt against direct linear motion. What follows are some of the tweets caught before the server crash.

I knew it was happening and still got caught in a bunch of snafoos anyway! Car wash completelly on the fritz and I almost couldn’t get out, the signs, the doors, the water sprayers and even the heat blasters all quit working at different times making it a very unusual carwash indeed, and a little scarey. Have heard many similar incidents and that was just the 1st day of this retrograde. What I have started to notice is that things are happening much quicker than they used to with these planetary influences. For instance, the day Uranus went into Aries, March 11, Japan rocked the world. This is that accelerated time of the last portion of the Mayan Calendar due to be completely fulfilled by October 28, 2011. So, hang onto your hats this month, it is sure to be filled with one surprise after another.

“Mercury retrograde is good for reworking, rehearsing, rethinking, researching, or finding a different approach to whatever is not well understood. It’s also great for busting lies and misconceptions, though if you have the misfortune of dealing with someone operating from a delusion, they still may not get what’s right in front of their face. In that case, let them go and apply your energies to more worthy relationships and endeavors.

Regarding The Grand Irrationality – this is a huge ongoing influence that symbolizes why our world is spinning in some very weird ways. It shows a long wave period where obsessive-compulsive behaviors are in the air, irrationality pervades the atmosphere, and why humanity is at a major fork in the road of our individual and collective destiny.

So during the next few weeks as the inner planets all roll into Aries and begin the string of conjunctions, turn from the past to the future, see what authentic “best self” you can bring forth in direct actions, and after you do your research, rehearsals, and reviews, “just do it!” The Grand Irrationality is again in major motion, so these next few weeks are very important in shaping all our futures in extraordinary ways cutting us loose from the past.

April is a huge Aries month this year with Lilith (shadows), Mars (aggression), Sun (spirit), Venus (loves), New Moon (4/3-plant new seeds), Uranus (combustion), Jupiter (expansion), Mercury Retrograde (mind), all in Aries at various times this month look for some BIG ACTION in your life! I think that April will be filled with great enthusiasm for most. There is a ’ take charge’ kind of energy now that makes things happen! This month also heralds the ingress of Neptune into Pisces-no small matter-until April of 2025. This is the spiritual evolutionary card that humanity is being dealt. The awakenings that will happen from this are phenomenal and will save our world, but not without the action of each individual taking part in that spiritual revolution/evolution. I awoke this morning to a forest of white. It shocked me, I am in spring mode and not prepared to greet the woods all coated in thick white beauty. Where is the green? Sigh, this is just more of the accelerated changes; the abrupt move from one state to another. Our early spring has already “rocked” the world off of its axis and even though a little snow in Spring is not all that unusual, it reminds me to be prepared for unexpected and abrupt change personally and globally.
We are heading into April with major planetary influences urging us to drop our dead past and begin to care/love enough to heal the world. This is the call for every person, get out of your ego-driven selfish, surface skimming life and look around at how you can improve your corner of the world. Love has got to be your driving force.

Moon gazing is a spiritual event for me. The closeness of such a large object, just hanging in the air, so close to my home is like magic. And the color! Not really white, but infused with a silvery light, ah, makes the heart wax poetic.
This weekend we will have a rare view of a “super” Full Moon in Virgo. It will be a stunning Moon, so be sure to get your Moongaze on and think on your life and all the richness of it, then think of others around the world who are struggling just to survive.  What can you do to help?
I’m taking one of my grandson’s to the Nature Conservancy center in Kearney, NE, where we will gaze at 500,000 Sandhill Cranes dancing their primordial lives, from the hidden facility of a blind. I can only imagine how this will play out under the beauty of the Full Moon.
Virgo Full Moon’s can activate our healing nature and wanting to help others less fortunate. That is very timely now as Japan needs the help of the entire world to regain their footing and feed and clothe their people. This Full Moon is a good time to donate money or offer support of some kind for anyone who is in need.

If the moon looks a little bit bigger and brighter this weekend, there’s a reason for that. It is.  Saturday’s full moon will be a super “perigee moon” — the biggest in almost 20 years. This celestial event is far rarer than the famed blue moon, which happens once about every two-and-a-half years.

“The last full moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993,” said Geoff Chester with the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington. “I’d say it’s worth a look.”  Full moons look different because of the elliptical shape of the moon’s orbit. When it’s at perigee, the moon is about 31,000 miles (50,000 km) closer to Earth than when it’s at the farthest point of its orbit, also known as apogee.

“Nearby perigee moons are about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than lesser moons that occur on the apogee side of the moon’s orbit,” the NASA website says.  This full moon will rise in the east at sunset and should look especially big at that time because of what’s known as the “moon illusion.”

“For reasons not fully understood by astronomers or psychologists, low-hanging moons look unnaturally large when they beam through trees, buildings and other foreground objects,” according to NASA.  Even though it may look close enough to touch, Saturday’s full moon will still be at a healthy distance — some 211,600 miles (356,577 km) away.

As rare as it is, it may be worth a look. Miss it and you’ll have to wait until 2029 to see it again.

In the coming years our planet and each person will be undergoing radical transformation. The type of transformation/regeneration that is rapid and sometimes shocking, thank you planet Uranus! But the truly big event is the square (friction) between Uranus (change/chaos) and Pluto (death/rebirth).
As we all mourn with and pray for our brothers and sisters around the world who are enduring starvation, brutality, injustice and horrific earth changes, may we be prepared for our own startling changes and help as many others as we can.

“This square will bring about major transformations in our world and the way we relate to everything and each other! So when can we expect major wreckage and breakthrough points? Again, these will vary with each individual person, city, state, and nation. However, there will be some points when the generic tension will be most challenging, and these are what follows.

Having started Summer 2010 and then abated through early 2011, Uranus square Pluto will continue to increase in intensity, becoming strongest this year in June, July, August, and September 2011. If there are going to be major, Earth changing events to happen this Summer associated with this revolutionary, purifying, intensifying, and transforming aspect, they will most likely be triggered June 18-20, June 23-30, the whole month of July (Solar Eclipse making a Cardinal T-square!) esp. July 7-10, and August 7-13.

After that point the Uranus square Pluto gets farther apart. While it’ll still be triggered each time an inner planet makes conjunctions, squares, or oppositions to either of these, the influence won’t be constant again until March 2012 when the intensity will again build to its crescendo beginning May 2012 when the aspect is exact and be a constant through late November 2012.

The next in the series of jolts to our collective system will occur beginning March 2013 with the next pass of Mars through Aries. That will mark a complete Mars conjunct Uranus in Aries cycle and reactivate the current forming Uranus in square Pluto in Capricorn. Again, we saw what these were about Summer 2010, so reference information about that Cardinal T-square in the archives to learn more, substituting what you know about Uranus for what I said about Jupiter.

By May-June 2013 Uranus will again make its exact square to Pluto, and shortly after in July and August Jupiter in early Cancer will trigger everything the square has been teaching us about balance, justice, perspective, proportion, and karma. This is where the “chickens come home to roost” from what we learned or did not learn about these things between October 2009 and October 2010!

Uranus again exactly squares Pluto on a constant basis from October 2013 through June 2014, so expect periods of time to get very intense with lots of challenging situations and hard-edged energy in the air. Just stay clear about needs, security, and lines of supply, and you’ll do fine.

From then the aspect begins to be less frequent. It will again intensify in September 2014, be exact November-December 2014 and January through April 2015, and then dance back and forth with Pluto in various distances of the separating square through late 2015 when they will make their last close square. Though separating, they will be close enough so that any inner planet making a conjunction, square, or opposition to either of them will trigger major effects.

Remember that these square energies got set into motion for the first time during the Summer of 2010 when Jupiter and Uranus in Aries opposed Saturn in Libra with all 3 making a Cardinal T-square with Pluto. So whatever was ending, beginning, turning corners, disrupted, or produced awareness moving you into a new archetype or life role will be impacted by these ongoing squares, oppositions, and T-squares between now and 2015.”                          -Robert Wilkinson

These are not easy times. Radical transformation demands our full attention, our “presence”. Eckhart Tolle awoke thousands with his books “The Power of Now” and “A New Earth”, based on practising being present and in the moment. Before that the Buddhists have been practicing and extolling being present for thousands of years.

During the month of March, prepare and make plans for what you can do differently with your life. Mercury (mind/communications) goes retrograde (slows way down) on the 30th of March thru April 22. During this time you can fine tune any plans and re-think your directions. Be ready to launch in May.

Today Mercury (mind/communications-messenger of the Gods) goes into fiery, assertive Aries. This will put a nice spin on how we all communicate this month. Aries is blunt, to put it politely, and has more to say than most; he does rule the ego, you know. This can be a great energy if you need to be clearer about your own needs, or to speak up about some injustice you’ve noticed. It can also descend into quarrels and pettiness and just plain being irritated with self and others. However, the spark or drive of Aries can plan and achieve new ways of living your life. Now is the time as Uranus is in it’s last degree of Pisces to dream your dreams into reality. For the next few days, drop anything that interferes with what you really want in this life. A very interesting month starting with a New Moon in Aquarius on the 3rd. This New Moon (emotions) is conjunct (sitting next to) the Sun (vital energy); Mars (force) is also in Aquarius (the individual opposed to the masses) as are Neptune (spirituality) and Chiron (wounds). What we have here is pretty big especially if you follow global happenings and watch how the Middle East is about to turn the tables and bring Democracy to it’s nations. A very Aquarian happening by the way. Saturn (the Judge) in Libra (equality) is also helping us review the whole human rights issues over there now that it has slowed way down and gone retrograde. Time for the world to see what is going on and plead ignorance no longer. This New Moon will plant many seeds and dreams of a better life for the masses in all of the world, not just the Middle East. Revolution, another Aquarian trait, is more about evolution this time and getting it right and fair for all peoples and not just the elite. Karma in action right before our eyes, thank you Aquarius and Saturn!
Jupiter (expansion) and strong Mars (aggression) in Aries (the initiator) are urging us to take a stand in our own struggle for freedom to know who we really are and express that. The time of being sheepish is past. 

The Chinese New Year coinsides with this of course and this is the year of the Metal Rabbit or Xin Mao.  Metal gives Rabbits a more resilient demeanor than the other more quiet Rabbit. These Rabbits are very ambitious and can be quite crafty in their dealings with others. They throw themselves and their emotions into everything they do, making them intense lovers, but not outwardly affectionate lovers. Their determination can affect their work as well, whether through personal relationships with colleagues or with the work itself, a Rabbit can be known to immerse himself in his projects…business and personal.

On February 18 we have a boisterous and party themed Full Moon in Leo!  This moon looks to be a lot of fun so get out and enjoy it with social leonine energy.

And don’t forget, the Mayan calendar’s last plateau begins this month and ends the entire calendar on October 28, 2011.  Time as we know it will accelerate to the point that sometimes you can just hang on by the skin of your teeth, but other times you will be leading the race for Gold! 

Saturn is now retrograde which is lightening up some of the heavy responsibilities and lessons that can be associated with stern Saturn moving forward. This is a a time to digest the past months and see what kind of progress you are making. While it can seem a little sluggish when Saturn slows down, use the time to sort out where you want to be by the time it turns direct next June 13th.

I love the expansive and benevolent energy of Jupiter, the planet of Good Luck and much more. It’s just easier to accomplish what I want when Jupiter is shining. Sunday, Jupiter moves into fiery Aries. Aries is about taking the lead, being innovative, winning/charming and radiant. Jupiter has been moving through my money house and it’s been great, now there will be an added oomph in that area because Aries is clear and strong about what it is doing. You might want to check out where Jupiter in Aries is going to be in your chart to get the most out of the next few months till June 4th. I think we will all be getting pretty inspired and fired up to accomplish a lot more and generally be happy too.
In April we get 6 planets and the Sun and Moon at various times all in Aries! Start planning now so that you utilize all this raw power in a productive way instead of just feeling overwhelmed.

And sometimes it’s not true or researched very well before publishing. One wannabe Astronomer made a lot of news and created much ado about nothing over the new zodiac sign/constellation etc. Much of this was exposed in the ’90′s as the astro slamming by a sci-fi writer. I’ve published a great article by Eric Frances on Facebook and now I’m posting Robert Wilkinson’s rebuttal, a good read, thanks Robert and Eric:

Well, it seems that someone has just made a name for himself by looking at a Babylonian zodiac and proclaiming that all our astrology signs are different. Is this really news, or for that matter, true?

Gotta love it when a nobody comes up with something that goes viral even when it’s not news or even relevant to modern existence! (No, this is not another Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, or “balloon boy” story…) According to the Minnesota Planetarium Society’s Parke Kunkle, the BIG NEWS is that the Babylonians had 13 constellations. They were the current 12 plus Ophiuchus. Supposedly Ophiuchus was “discarded by the Babylonians because they wanted 12 signs per year.”

This is not news, and is superficial clap trap at best! As I wrote to two friends who emailed me this not-so-stunning announcement yesterday:

Yawn. This is just more of the same old same old. The astronomers approximate the “Sidereal positions,” though all will admit that NO ONE actually knows when the divergence between the zodiac and the constellations began. This is just another approximation made by a literalist who wants to link astrology to the constellations rather than the symbolic cycles of unfoldment.

There are also ancient zodiacs that included Cetus and Ophiuchus that did not include Libra. In ancient days there was one HUGE constellation called Virgo-Scorpio. It was only upon the arrival of Venus in our solar system that the ancients created Libra out of Virgo-Scorpio and made the one big one into three smaller ones.

This is just more nonsense comparing apples and oranges from a nobody trying to become somebody.

It’s also why I encourage students of the craft to study the planets and aspects, since a square is a square regardless of what signs it falls in. We can call a sign whatever name we want – many cultures did not call their signs the same names as the Babylonians, Greeks, and Romans. The key element regarding the signs is what each phase means within the whole of the cycle of unfoldment.

I was reading my favorite astrologers site and thought I’d share this article about some of the interesting transits the planets are going through:
Astrology in January 2011 – A Venus, Mars, and Saturn Turning Point for Everyone

Occasionally there are configurations that come and go quickly, but are very important in our lives as well as worldly affairs. The coming week is one of those times.

Right now, and for the past several days, we’ve had Venus in early Sagittarius forming a septile to Mars in late Capricorn. This has put our Taurus and Libra chart areas at a critical turning point relative to our Aries and Scorpio chart areas. These are working out in the houses where transiting Venus and Mars occupy, i.e., Sagittarius and Capricorn. It indicates that people with these signs prominent are hitting a major turning point in all those sign areas.

Though this aspect will pass during the third week of January, it’s still powerful enough to precipitate events in our lives where we must confront decisions and changes now through next week. In addition, another major factor making the upcoming week so important is that Venus will soon septile Saturn and Mars will biseptile Saturn. Given that Saturn is at its threshold degree where it will soon go stationary retrograde for several months, this makes Saturn’s themes all the more important.

Because both Venus and Mars form waxing aspects to Saturn, it indicates a point of “critical emergence” due to the choices made in the next week. This will show as turning points in our Capricorn and Aquarius ruled areas worked out through both Venus and Mars related functions. So (to use a somewhat broad brush) expect activities involving relationships, values, loss, regeneration, and initiatives that will help Saturn in Libra lessons show themselves.

Along with some of the hotspots being activated this weekend and next week it would be a good time to practice patience, tolerance and control any urges of anger/violence.-Sue

This Solar Eclipse is the first in 2011 and its effects will last approximately 4 years. With an eclipse, the sun’s light is blocked momentarily and we are much more open to the energy of the Universe. The Sun filters that energy most of the time. Eclipses close doors (solar eclipses slam doors) on the past and hopefully you will be able to shed old patterns to let in fresher ideas and ways of living. This is beneficial as it removes out of date parts of your life that don’t represent who you are anymore. There will be endings in whatever house it falls in your chart. For instance, if it falls in your 1st House you can expect to be revamping your style, exercising/eating better and maybe upgrading your personality, or you may be faced with the grim reality that you let yourself go for way too long and become depressed.

And so we have this amazing eclipse and it was much bigger than I had anticipated. Emotional with family and one particiular person having a meltdown that effected so many of us and all trying to figure out how to make this one person have an easier time of it. Certainly pulled the family together and brought the elephant into the room.
Yes, eclipses can be quite dramatic and the blessings are such a relief after the shazammmmmmm!
Today the Sun changes into one of my favorite signs-Capricorn. In Capricorn we are grounded and steady, and do we ever need that now! Capricorn takes the lead in a very practical but powerful way. It feels like someone opened the door and fresh Spring air has flooded the room.
Mercury retrograde continues along in very thoughtful ways of creating deep change through mindful thinking but not taking action just yet.

It can be a little intense right now if you are not focusing and just being present for other’s angst. Pluto (plumbing the depths), Mars (power surge), Mercury (usually the messenger, but stopping communication now till the 30th) are under Capricorn’s gaze (obstacles, discipline, limitation, government). Not an easy time thru the rest of December. I find my dreams waking me up and the symbolism blowing my mind. Some mornings I can only muse about said dreams and wonder their greater reality connected to the collective unconscious. These are deep waters that are being activated for us all to become more accountable in how we treat ourselves, others, the land/waters etc. I do believe I feel a car bomb somewhere going off…………that would be the negative use of this powerful tri-energy.

December is gonna rock your sign in oh so many ways! Like Bonnie Rait says, “let’s give ‘em something to talk about”………….ok then, let’s talk about Mercury retrograde starting on the 10th, but you will feel it around the 1st and it won’t go away Momma till the 29th, and you will feel it into the New Year, which is another story altogether!! Mercury is the Messenger of the Gods and rules communications/electronics etc. When he slows down you can count on mis-communications, lost mail, computers breaking down and puhleese don’t buy anyone you love electronics for Christmas, unless purchased in November! So slow it waaaay down and just relax. You will not be able to rush around in December and frantically buy presents, just won’t work this year. But there are many things you can do, especially with Venus touring through sexy Scorpio. I call this Venus in Black Lace and there will be a lovely sexual energy floating through the entire month. What you do with that is always “behind closed door”. The New Moon in fiery Sagittarius on 12/5 will align with the Galactic Center and you will want to be very still and reflect on just what you want your life to be giving you at this time. New Moons are the time to plant the seeds of what you would rather have instead. And to boost this, Uranus (chaotic/impulsive) will go direct and create such uneasiness in some and creative brilliance in others! Almost too hot to handle. And oh so much more but I’ll leave it with the indescribable Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse on 12/21 in Gemini at the Winter Solstice. If you believe in anything………polish it up now and offer it to the gods of the coming Age for this eclipse will shut down many things in your life that have not served your highest interest in oh so long……..work with it, surrender the dead past and bravely be born into your brightest future!

Uranus, the planet of originality/inventions/uniqueness/chaos/electricity, is moving forward now, after being retrograde since August 1st. How this energy effects you is unpredictable, but it will infuse you with a desire to do things a little differently. Since we are in the holiday season, a good use of this energy would be to make it different this year. Be original and let your own expression of what this season is truly about come forth.
Along with the added jolt of energy from Uranus, we have Pluto and Mercury in Capricorn asking us to pause and think before we leap. In truth, this month is good for introspection, not so good for frantic holiday fare.
