As I sit here this evening I’m pondering on events that give meaning to our lives. Today is one of those that has been lost in our country to most, The Winter Solstice. Solstices mark transitions. Now we transit from the long dark into the renewal of spring……ck out this site for great info on the history of the winter solstice: http://www.brownielocks.com/wintersolstice.html

Now is the time to look back over 2011 and see where you have come. What has left your life to make room for the new? Prepare to welcome in the new and potentially brighter year with fresh opportunity for anything you want in your life. It is a very powerful time to perform a meaningful ritual. I have had some of the most powerful spiritual experiences practicing ritual at the solstices.

I’ve just completed a great one. I wrote down on two separate pieces of paper what I want to let go of in 2012 and what I want to come in. I went out into the woods behind my house, breathed in that crisp air, burned the pages, breathed in relief and hope and fresh air and felt completely renewed! I kept a copy and put it in my astro ephemeris for 2012. It’s good to look back and see what you have accomplished. And amazing how accurate these little letting goes and inviting ins are!

May your 2012 be more than you hoped for and may the energies flow through you peacefully with grace and ease.

Namaste to all Jai Bhagwan Shalom Peace Que todas as bênçãos da terra te iluminem Om Shanti

Winter Blessings of Peaceful Stillness

The Halloweens I remember so fondly were in the 1950′s. We always made our own costumes as the ones you could buy in the dime stores were lame and the masks were hard plastic and never fit right. I remember being a cat very often as I had this long black tail from some dancing costume. Black eyeliner made whiskers on my face and little black ears were cut from cardboard, painted and tied on with string under the chin. It was easy to find a black shirt and slacks. Our goodie bags were old pillow cases, and you needed a bag that big for all the homemade goodies you would receive. Popcorn balls were the best, made from scratch just like the hand dipped caramel apples. Old Mrs. Hubbard would bake her famous sugar cookies and we would eat those still warm beauties before we ever got home. You knew everyone who’s house you knocked on and delighted in fooling them about who you were. There was much laughter and mystery and memories made.

In the center of town the teenagers would always find an outhouse in the country and bring it to town and lock somebody inside of it. Toilet paper streamers danced in the air from the tall trees and you expected to see ghosts at any minute and often, of course, you did. The smell of hot apple cider wafted from doorways and many times you were warmed by someone’s generosity on a cold night.

I feel blessed to have lived my youth in the then small town (500) of Ralston, Nebraska. The memories are a rich journey into my past at times of the year like Halloween.

Happy Halloween everyone, may you be safe, but still in awe of the mysteries of life and death and the celebrations we share.

There is an excitement in the air. Of course, spring is part of that, but Aries energy is starting to pick up speed now. Aries is the initiator, the leader of the pack, and it is leading the Sun (spirit source), Mercury (communications), Jupiter (abundance) and Uranus (unpredictable) in a surge of bright, let’s change the world and make it a better place, energy!! We are witness to sweeping changes all around us. It is so important that we are consciously choosing which direction to go in. It’s all about “waking up” and seeing what needs to be done in our individual lives, and where we can be of service in the lives of others and especially our planets life.
And this from Robert Wilkinson: “The next two weeks offer us opportunities to see a greater Truth, Life, and Light in self and others that can anchor a new set of motives, continuity, and sense of compassion. Follow your feelings into decisions and actions, and then make sure you’re operating from the newest information and update your understanding and vision.

Continue to break free of old rules, limitations, fears, and “shoulds.” Keep letting go of being seduced or distracted by opportunities that are not really opportunities, as well as perceptions and relationships that divert you from the ideals and visions you really care about. These weeks are about clarity and compassion, repair work and new openings, and seeing your unique qualities that the world can recognize and reward consistently.

Accept the endings, accept the rewards, accept the new identity, accept what you can do, and accept what you cannot influence. Your wisdom has cooked, and now it’s time to take it out of the oven and serve the Guest!”

And what a full moon it is as it stares across the sky at the Sun/Neptune/Mercury/Mars all in Aquarius and Chiron a few degrees away! That’s a lot of oppositional energy for one Moon to handle. But the positive and brave heart of Leo is sure to put a happy spin on the day. All that Aquarius energy can make us feel a little detached as if we are watching the party and not altogether in it.
Today’s Moon energy is really good to let the daily grind go, call up a few or more friends and hit the Old Market for shopping, dinner and a little wine! And that is exactly what I am doing today right after an amazing massage!! Today, indulge yourself and share the love and fun with others! We don’t get too many party moons on a Friday. Just make sure you have a designated driver.

Today, Chiron (wounded healer) moves into Pisces (creative/spirituality). This indicates some pretty deep spiritual healing for all on the planet. Chiron exposes the areas of our lives that need to be healed so that we can come into balance. You can look for a revisiting of old wounds that you haven’t healed. Great opportunity to visit with your therapist and finally let go of the old haunted past. We cannot take our pain/fear/anger etc. into Paradise. This is your time to clear as much as you can for the coming year. The Mayan Calendar begins it’s final phase this month, and will only last through October 28. Accelerated growth and time speeding up in unprecedented ways will catch everyone’s attention. Now is the time to get as fully into the moment as you can and let go of the dead past. We only have now to live in.
Chiron’s healing energy is similar to the herbal kingdom in that the cure is close to the wound or disease. When old hurts open up, the cure is within reach, you just have to look.

It’s almost the NEW YEAR, are you ready?

Have your Astrology Chart done for this very important year of 2011. This chart will show you very personally just how the planets are calling for you to grow/change and step into your awesome power. Nobody in the world is like you and yet, we are all the same! This year will make you very aware of that seeming duality.

This report will help you glide into creative transitions in your life.
For the month of January this $120 report is $95, a savings of $25 for the first 10 people to respond. (A one + hour reading, in person or over the phone, taped with handouts)
This is one of the most important years of your life, and the lives of everyone on this planet.
During this year we will see two major planets change their signs and so much more……………………………

Neptune (spirituality/creativity/deception) moves into Pisces (dreamy) on April 4, 2011 to stay until March 31, 2025. During this time you will see enormous humanitarian and spiritual changes in the lives of all.

Uranus (innovative change or destruction) moves into Aries on March 11, 2011 to stay until March 7, 2019. This time will herald the breakdown of rigid, out of date structures and begin anew from scratch.

Chiron (wounded warrior/healer/astrologer/philosopher) moves into Pisces on February 8, 2011 to stay until February 18, 2019. The last time Chiron was here was 1960-1969. This will be a radical shift similar to the ‘60’s of throwing off the chains of bondage and restriction to break into personal and global freedom. The theme is HEALING.

And this is just a taste of the many transitions this year begins for us all.

“Though some people will experience severe challenges and the need to back off if they find themselves out on a limb, illuminating what they should be learning through, I believe there is little to fear from this eclipse. A lot of positive work can be accomplished by combining how you have been or are being blessed within a larger group, social, or community context with the willingness to live a higher set of life standards.

The next few months blesses us or shows us how to bless others. We will truly learn that we need to be willing to live our Spiritual Self in the highest possible way while retiring from old dramas. Use creative visualization in your own unique way, and you can transcend old limitations and find dominion over your life. Aum Namah Shivaya!” -Robert Wilkinson

Neptune, the planet of mystery/spirituality/enlightenment/creativity, is returning to the sign it rules, Pisces in 2011. This will be a culmination of 165 years of spiritual growth on this planet! Do a little historical digging and see what we humans have been up to in that realm. Now we peek into a future that will change the way we view God and how we interact with the creative life force. Get ready for some mind blowing changes where the people on this planet start waking up and dropping old vengeful god beliefs and the principles of peaceful acceptance and tolerance of all begins to settle in. Incredible beauty and creativity will be unleashed also, look for our world to be transformed……….again. The negative side of Neptune in Pisces can delude people into believing things are different when they are not. Neptune also rules drugs and altered states where we may see a turn for the worse in that area but better understanding and help for people who want to change. Stay out of self-deception and rise up to your best and highest state and you will soar with these energies.

I found this wonderful little discourse on the Equinoxes that I thought I would share with you all this morning.

Some Equinox Thoughts

“Yesterday as I was waiting for a train to bring me into work, I saw out of the corner of my eye this leaf with a cocoon of some creature in it. As I looked around at the trees turning colours I was struck by the imminent Equinox and what that means. At the moment of Equinox, night and day, light and dark appear the same. Then slowly, some of us will be heading towards spring, with everything sprouting, bursting out, growing towards the light and Summer. On the other side of the world, many of us will be taking stock, watching the leaves fall, then rot, heading towards the inevitable dark of Winter. Again polarities, where one person is experiencing Spring another is experiencing Autumn, both are there -opposites yet simultaneous. Thinking about this it reminds me that our world is full of so many experiences all happening at the same time. To really take part in the adventure of awakening it is important to remember this – both in times of the most radiant shining light and in times of deep darkness.” -Tim Frekke

I will be leading a Peace Meditation for 30 minutes after Yoga tonight at 7:00 pm at The Morning Star Center.

Meditate for World Peace
by Robert Wilkinson

Today, September 21, groups and individuals everywhere are committing to 15-minute periods in prayer or meditation for world peace. This is a worldwide movement to create a global ceasefire and further the ideal of peace and nonviolence. If you’re interested, keep reading.

We are told this is an attempt to create a pulse of invocative energy from meditators all over the planet. Visualize this as a rhythmic call to Divinity for the Light, Love and Spiritual Will needed to assist humanity to bring forth a culture of lasting peace. This initiative is just one small part of a much wider concentration of prayers and meditations for peace from spiritual and faith-based groups in all parts of the world.

SouledOut.org is holding a meditative space between 9-9:15 pm PDT on this day, and will sound The Great Invocation at both the beginning and end of this time period. You are welcome to participate in this meditation and sounding of The Great Invocation at this time, even if you’re in a different time zone. By all means, please meditate throughout the day as you are inspired.

This Vigil began at midnight on the morning of Tuesday, September 21 in whatever time zone you live, and ends at midnight your time Tuesday night.

If you’re in Europe and want to tune in on the California meditation, that would be 5-5:15 am in the UK, 6-6:15 am in France, Germany, Netherlands, and other countries in that time zone, 9:30 am in India, and 2 pm in east Australia.

Since we’ve tried war for millennia and it hasn’t worked so well for humanity, maybe it’s time to try peace for a while. Aum and blessings….

The Great Invocation is a universal prayer given to humanity by a Great One. Most religions believe in a World Teacher or Saviour, knowing this Light Giver by such names as the Christ, the Lord Maitreya, the Imam Mahdi, the Bodhisattva, and the Messiah. Where Christ is invoked in this prayer, please use your faith’s name for the World Teacher.

Here is the version of The Great Invocation that I’ve been using for 34 years:

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of all
Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of all
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of all
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power
Restore the Plan on Earth. Aum.

I came across an amazing website regarding crop circles. I know they’ve been around for a while but I don’t know much about them. As I looked at the photos I felt like I was looking at a map of the planets and some of the aspects occurring at different times. Very interesting. Check out:
http://www.cropcircleconnector.com/2010/latejuly2010.html
While it is true that anyone studying the stars feels connected to the Universe in a personal way I began to feel very connected to our Mother Earth and felt like these “messages” were from her and we were not getting it at all.
The circles as far as I could tell occur in ancient sacred sites all around the world but chronicled by many in England. Why the world isn’t studying this to understand why our earth is communicating to us in such a visible way is beyond me.
I believe we are about to enter into a time where psychic communication is not just with other humans but with the stars, the plants and animals and more. I can really feel that when I look at the circles.

Great energy was unleashed yesterday, so how are we dealing with it today? The gift of personal power comes with responsibility. How wisely do you use your power? Do remember that each of us has our own agenda and that might not fit in with yours.
Remember to keep your heart open to be as kind to yourself and others as you can. Don’t let the ego forget it is to remain aligned with soul, it is not running the whole show.
So, be in alignment with your higher self and feel the power of the eclipse and the development it is bringing you personally to advance into the best you can be.
These are the days of accepting power and flowing with grace and that is what will change our world and heal our planet.
It’s big stuff, but we are ready.

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today…
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…
You may say I’m a dreamer

I have long been an advocate of not drinking pastuerized milk as that process kills anything that is good for you. This morning I opened my email bag and there was this article that I thought I would share with you:
“First of all, please understand that I do not recommend drinking pasteurized milk of any kind – ever. Because once milk has been pasteurized it’s more or less “dead,” and offers little in terms of real nutritional value to anyone, whether you show signs of intolerance to the milk or not.

Valuable enzymes are destroyed, vitamins (such as A, C, B6 and B12) are diminished, fragile milk proteins are radically transformed from health nurturing to unnatural amino acid configurations that can actually worsen your health. Finally the eradication of beneficial bacteria through the pasteurization process actually ends up promoting pathogens.

The healthy alternative to pasteurized milk is raw milk, which is an outstanding source of nutrients including beneficial bacteria such as lactobacillus acidophilus, vitamins and enzymes, and it is, in my estimation, one of the finest sources of calcium available.

Raw milk is generally not associated with the health problems linked to pasteurized milk, and even people who have been allergic to pasteurized milk for many years can typically tolerate and even thrive on raw milk.

However, some people may still experience problems, such as upper respiratory congestion, when drinking raw milk, and the difference between the breeds of cows the milk comes from appears to hold the answer.”

I remember the ’60′s as if it were yesterday. Exciting, free, radical, exhilarating, rebellious, creative, alive!!! Well, that’s what is developing and we will taste of that elixir this summer. I’m not 20 this time and not sure how my aged psyche/body will handle this last tango between Uranus and Saturn. We have been dancing/fighting with this opposition since the elections of ’08.

I want to fly free, but I’m not the same headstrong, irresponsible, freedom loving “hippie” I was back then. Life has a tendency to mellow the fires of youth, or maybe just “beat the snot” out of them.

We’ll see the fruits of the summer of 2010 in ’11 and ’12. This would be a good time to revamp your life and let go of the old or you won’t get a zingy new life because you’ll be dealing with sludgy old patterns that get you down and make you sick.

The even bigger summer news is the Cardinal Square between the big kahunas, Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter & Uranus. This is a slightly unstable pattern that will unleash enormous power through Pluto the planet of Power & Transformation. Pluto will be under tremendous pressure to do something. This whole configuration will be operating on the level of Soul, hope you have been listening to your higher self and following the guidance of your intuition. It will be very important to relax through all of this, so do take a nice vacation and plan your next course of action in your ever evolving life.

There will be a lot of energy for taking action to change this summer, just don’t let it run you over!

Many are writing about the similarities of the Great Depression of the 1930′s and these times.
It is a “squeeze” to be sure, and many are frightened and holding on to not only their money, but their fear of change. I can see the economic trends ahead through studying the many great astrological configurations about to occur. I found this piece on an astrologers website that rings right on. We have to let go of fear and find new ways to prosper and be happy.
“Revolutionary times of profound change through new ideas are not yet upon us in 2011. Denial will still have the upper hand, as the existing power elites of the American empire continue their efforts to resuscitate the old Humpty-Dumpty economy.

About the only success they can have, however, is to dig the hole of financial disaster much deeper.

2012 brings the financial and economic meltdown of corporate business and government to critical mass as Uranus reaches the first of seven partile passes in square to Pluto. That is the most passes of any Uranus-Pluto alignment for more than 1,000 years, making the 2010s the
longest period we know of breakdown followed by radical reform.

By mid-spring of 2013, the second Grand Cross gets underway and makes its eruptive presence felt. The breakdown goes viral and spreads rapidly to every outlying social institution — governmental, educational, civic,
etc. State governments go belly up. Social services are severely cut back. Many global markets simply seize up and grind to a halt. The Cardinal Cross continues unabated until June 2016, but Uranus and Pluto remain within 10° orb of their square for four more years past that, through
early 2020. The entire eight years from 2012 represent the most urgent wake-up call ever for America, and, by extension, for the world.

People who expect life to remain largely unchanged are in for a shock. Even those who anticipate a slow-motion shift over two or three decades may be surprised at the sudden cascade of events that accelerate and overtake us in the middle of the 2010s.
From where we are now, however, most of the big questions remain unanswered. How severe will the crisis be? No one knows. Will chaos overwhelm civility? In some places quite probably, at least for a time. That happens with every sudden and dramatic change. What radical reforms
will be put in place in response to the breakdowns? How draconian will they be? How compassionate? Answers to these and other questions will depend on how and to what extent our individual and collective consciousness awakens.” -Bill Herbst, Astrologer

the light that came to lucille clifton
came in a shift of knowing
when even her fondest sureties

faded away. it was the summer
she understood that she had not understood
and was not mistress even
of her own off eye, then
the man escaped throwing away his tie and
the children grew legs and started walking and

she could see the peril of an
unexamined life.
she closed her eyes, afraid to look for her

authenticity
but the light insists on itself in the world;
a voice from the nondead past started talking,
she closed her ears and it spelled out in her hand
“you might as well answer the door, my child,
the truth is furiously knocking.”

Such an interesting winter. I use that word lightly so as not to say anything negative. We can always find something positive to say about anything, and so it is a very interesting winter. Sloughing off old patterns that can keep us trapped in negative feedback loops is also very interesting. I’m not a big fan of continual deep internal clearing but it seems to be the only game in town right now.
Jupiter is in and out of Pisces this year creating opportunity to delve into our deeply spiritual natures. And finally, I think, getting it, that everything is spiritual. It’s a huge paradigm shift from church/religion/compartmentalizing spirituality and so on. I can feel the collective brakes grinding to a halt and people looking all confused and saying “what”? What indeed. Great expansive, beneficial, philosophical Jupiter in the dreamy, creative, psychic Pisces is opening up doors and windows to our souls and removing the veils from out brow chakra. As we peer out and see the world in a much less pollyanna way, the world, all of it, is shown as all of our home, not just Mexico, Haiti, England etc……….what happens everywhere is also happening to us. This is the awakening of Jupiter in Pisces…….the call to justice.
Robert Wilkinson has a nice clip about this I’ve pasted below:
“Jupiter in Pisces can lead us to greater faith, blessings, and connectedness if we dare to dream our deepest Truths. It is where we can “put our bread upon the waters,” trusting in our feeling-knowledge to be led to a greater Way, Truth, and Life. It is a time to say goodbye to whatever is no longer part of our quest for Truth, and get ready for the fiery new beginnings of Jupiter in Aries.

As I recently told a fan of the site, perhaps Jupiter in Pisces marks a closure on old sorrows and motives while embracing a greater wisdom-compassion within a sense of an all-enveloping Divine Mother energy. It could be a time to find a deeper sense of ourselves as Divine Witnesses, along with a greater appreciation of the value of solitude. This can help all of us say goodbye to many things as we prepare to leap into the new this Summer.

I’ll conclude these musings with a good Jupiter in Pisces meditation:

Imagine yourself as a leaf floating on the surface of the ocean of Divine Mother energy.
Infinite sky and depth are all around while you gently float, securely held on Her lap.
Feel the unity with All-That-Is.
Watch as resistance and fear flow away as vague sensations, and experience vaster and deeper feelings of protection than you’ve ever known.
Say goodbye, forgive, and be at peace held gently within the All.

“These times are about coming out of drifting into focus, letting go of corrosive or divertive relationships and ideals, and finding a self-organizing balance and perspective to achieve a greater initiative, autonomy, and ability to care for what really matters. Due to Mercury’s influence, the next 45 months will definitely require a broader point of view, more fair, just, and balanced interpretations, and seeing the core of things to strip away superficialities and glamorous assumptions. It will certainly end old illusions of control.
major new beginnings are on the way for those who have prepared, even if it didn’t seem like they were preparing. New groups are being formed (if somewhat slowly and in a roundabout manner thanks to Mars RX), and what will end over the next 45 months will start being replaced with new ways of acting creatively or in a wholehearted ways beginning May 2010.” -Wilkinson

Due to our amazing Mother Nature I have had quite the pause to re-think and re-discover who I am these days. I certainly resisted at first. My lifestyle is so intense with caring for others that it has made me pretty uncomfortable to just be me.
By the second day of being completely snowed in with mountains of the lovely white stuff everywhere, I was able to be present for myself. What a lovely thing and I had so forgotten how great that feels. I was able to spend many hours re-organizing my jewelry bench, cleaning out all the dusty bead drawers and putting them in color order starting with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, black and browns……………wow, can’t believe how much pleasure that is giving me.
During this hiatus from “normal” life I have also had many hours of contemplation on what I want to do next. That would be personal life and work life.
Nothing is set in stone but I do feel a very strong sense of slowing it down a bit more. Do I really want to be so busy? Why don’t I get away more often? Why aren’t I doing more of what I would like to do?
Then comes the question, what do I really want to do with the rest of my life? Feeling a bit of urgency in that one as I search around to see if any of that is what I am currently doing. Hmmm………….
The nice thing is that I feel like I have come home inside myself once again after being away for a very long time. I think the rest will naturally fall into it’s own place. Sigh…………………………….Welcome 2010!

Baking Soda, cheap, non-toxic and not only great to keep your ph properly in balance but I use it instead of comet and other abrasive cleaners. If we would all throw out our chemicals and use simple, non-toxic natural forms, our world would start to heal much more rapidly. Get over your addiction to chemicals, use things like baking soda, vinegar and ammonia instead.
I found this information on www.mercola.com, great stuff!! Read on…………Sue
According to the Materia Medica by Walter Bastedo, sodium bicarbonate taken internally can soothe your mucous membranes and dissolve thick mucus.
In their booklet “Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Medical Uses,” published in 1924, Dr. Volney S. Cheney recounts his clinical successes with sodium bicarbonate in treating cold and flu:
Recommended dosages from the Arm & Hammer Company for colds and influenza back in 1925 were:
•	Day 1 — Take six doses of ½ teaspoon of baking soda in glass of cool water, at about two hour intervals
•	Day 2 — Take four doses of ½ teaspoon of baking soda in glass of cool water, at the same intervals
•	Day 3 — Take two doses of ½ teaspoon of baking soda in glass of cool water morning and evening, and thereafter ½ teaspoon in glass of cool water each morning until cold symptoms are gone
Further dosing recommendations and instructions for taking sodium bicarbonate can be found in Mark Sircus’ book Sodium Bicarbonate – Rich Mans Poor Mans Cancer Treatment, which is also available in Kindle edition.
According to Arm & Hammer’s dosing instructions, do not exceed seven doses of ½ teaspoon per day, or three doses of ½ teaspoon daily if you’re over the age of 60. In addition, do not use the maximum dosage for more than two weeks.
Baking soda (also known as sodium bicarbonate), popularized by Arm & Hammer some 155 years ago, is derived from a natural occurring mineral, and is one of the safest and most versatile substances around. In fact, if you search for “baking soda” on my site, you’ll find a number of articles detailing its potential uses, including using it as a:
•	Household cleaner
•	Sunburn remedy
•	Alternative to toxic antiperspirants
•	Sports performance enhancer
Few people realize, however, that baking soda also has potent medicinal properties. Taken internally, it helps maintain the pH balance in your bloodstream. This is likely the basic premise behind its recommended uses against both colds and influenza symptoms, and even cancer.

Today is my grandson’s 9th birthday, seems like he was just born yesterday. What a child he is, a whole conumdrum of positive/negative charges that leaves me in awe and wonder. A thought provoking child and way ahead of his time…….or perhaps a product of these times……Happy Birthday Clinton!!
As I was checking my favorite sites this morning I came across an old Van Morrison song whose lyrics seem to fit my grandson, so thought I would share this very beautiful, thought provoking piece:

I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
I have seen without perceiving
I have been another man
Let me pierce the realm of glamour
So I know just what I am
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
Feel the Angel of the Presence
In the mighty crystal fire
Lift me up consume my darkness
Let me travel even higher
I’m a dweller on the threshold
As I cross the burning ground
Let me go down to the water
Watch the great illusion drown
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
I’m gonna turn and face the music
The music of the spheres
Lift me up consume my darkness
When the midnight disappears
I will walk out of the darkness
And I’ll walk into the light
And I’ll sing the song of ages
And the dawn will end the night
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I cross some burning ground
And I’ll go down to the water
Let the great illusion drown
I’m a dweller on the threshold
And I’m waiting at the door
And I’m standing in the darkness
I don’t want to wait no more
I’m a dweller on the threshold
Dweller on the threshold
I’m a dweller on the threshold
-Dweller On The Threshold by Van Morrison

From the book How to Know God by Swami Prabhavananda and Christopher Isherwood

Knowledge or perception is a thought-wave (vritti) in the mind. All knowledge is therefore objective. Even what Western psychologists call introspection or self knowledge is objective knowledge according to Patanjali, since the mind is not the seer, but only an instrument of knowledge, an object of perception like the outside world. The Atman, the real seer, remains unknown.
Every perception arouses the ego-sense, which says: “I know this.” But this is the ego speaking, not the Atman, the real Self. The ego-sense is caused by the identification of the Atman with the mind, senses, etc. It is as if a little electric light bulb would declare: “I am the electric current” and then proceed to describe electricity as a pear shaped glass object containing filaments of wire. Such identification is absurd – as absurd as the ego’s claim to be the real Self. Nevertheless, the electric current is present in the light bulb, and the Atman is in all things, everywhere.

And I sit and find peace in this timeless presence, saved from thoughts of the past and future for now.
