Whenever you are in a negative state, there is something in you that wants the negativity, that perceives it as pleasurable, or that believes it will get you what you want. Otherwise, who would want to hang onto negativity, make themselves and others miserable, and create disease in the body? So, whenever there is negativity in you, if you can be aware at that moment that there is something in you that takes pleasure in it or believes it has a useful purpose, you are becoming aware of the ego directly. The moment this happens, your identity has shifted from ego to awareness. This mean the ego is shrinking and awareness is growing.
If in the midst of negativity you are able to realize ‘At this moment I am creating suffering for myself’ it will be enough to raise you above the limitations of conditioned egoic states and reactions. It will open up infinite possibilities which come to you when there is awareness.
Negativity is not intelligent. It is always of the ego. The ego may be clever but it is not intelligent. Cleverness pursues its own little aims. Intelligence sees the larger whole in which all things are connected.
Most politicians and businesspeople are clever. Very few are intelligent. Whatever is attained through cleverness is short-lived and always turns out to be eventually self defeating. Cleverness divides; intelligence includes. –A New Earth, TolleNo comments

Organic to Go, a Seattle organic fast food company founded in 2004, has purchased cafes and catering operations. The company plans to create lunch places serving organic meals.
People who eat meals out increasingly want more nutritious food. More than 76 percent of the people in a recent poll said they are trying to eat out more healthfully than they were two years ago.
Another showed that, after bite-sized desserts, the hottest trends in food were locally grown and organic produce.
Organic to Go opened its first cafe three years ago. Now it boasts 33 outposts in Seattle, San Diego, Los Angeles and Washington D.C.3 comments
Like most people I have spent a great deal of time mourning and bemoaning the past. What could I have done differently and all that hindsight perfect awareness. So easy but not while you are living it. I have made a deeply conscious commitment to extricating myself from those tentacles of the past and the almost brutal condemnation that reminds me of how some early religious folk used to wear hair shirts and beat themselves with whips.
Briefly I can stand in the present and breathe and know that whatever I want is right here now, what do I want?
So, of course, this little quote came my way from Abraham this morning; apropos:
“There is nothing for you to go back and live over, or fix, or feel regret about now. Every part of your life has unfolded just right. And so, knowing all that you know from where you now stand, what do you want? Go forth in joy.” -Abraham Hicks1 comment
Relationships are undergoing major transformation as well as everything else in the world. I don’t believe any relationship will survive when the motivating factors are needy, material safety etc. Relationships of the future will look a lot different and lasting forever will be an odd thought. Love lives in grace and travels on the fluid currents of emotion. Family clusters will include men with men & women, women with women and men, children will be loved no matter whose they are and violence will be a thing of the past. I see small communities united in love and judgment of any part of it has long since been healed. “You may say I’m a dreamer………..but I’m not the only one.”
“Imagine a world in which love is lived as Love itself, where love is the form and the content of relationships.
This is what the future holds; this is the world we will live in.
Our relationships will be wild new flowers blooming in a luminous garden.” –Daphne Rose KingmaNo comments
When asked what their vision for America is, Kokomon Clottey and Aeeshah Ababio-Clottey replied in the book “Imagine”:
“What is our vision for America in the year 2050? As we pondered and prayed over this question, we became filled with the spirit and hope of what could be. What we see is almost unimaginable – the ultimate fruition of the words. ‘The holiest of all spots on Earth is where an ancient hatred has become a present love.’”
Wow………….I’m going for that one. All the old hatreds, how important is it for us to hold onto these things anymore? Perhaps you don’t call it a hatred but rather something you dislike. It doesn’t matter, words/semantics…………..let it go, let it be healed, let love in.No comments
We baby boomers always knew we were special, but it is only now that we can understand how. We are distinguished not by our size, wealth, or colorful past, but because we are the first humans in history who have had to answer this simple question: How much do I care about future generations?
Much is riding on the answer to this question – not only the quality of life of tens of billions of our descendants, who have no less right to decent lives than we do, but also our own quality of life in the short time we have left. There is, it turns out, something worse than dying. It is to die knowing that we have failed all who will follow us.
As individuals there is both little and much we can do. We cannot hope to reverse the course of evolution on our own. But we can, each of us transform ourselves. We can stop our present way of life and begin instead, on our own, to live for future generations. Our individual acts, by themselves, will change nothing. But if enough follow, our cumulative actions will transform everything, in the only way that fundamental change has ever occurred: person by person, life by life, dream by dream. –Fred Branfman in the book: ImagineNo comments
This is so where I have been of late and heading off into the future with so much hope. Again I quote my favorite astrologer, Robert Wilkinson. Enjoy the power of this Full Moon in Sagittarius today, it brings a lot of energy/fire/spirit!!
Conscious Community – Fellowships of the Future by Robert Wilkinson
It’s still Mercury Retrograde, so today we’ll take a new look at a subject concerning one of the elements of the future civilization. Many are moving beyond racial, economic, and religious tribal states of consciousness, and if this describes you, then welcome to the future of humanity – Cooperative Conscious Fellowships.
What’s coming isn’t just one more hierarchical control system. Those who are breaking free of old ways of relating to each other, matter, consciousness, and Nature Herself are learning how to operate in a new frame of reference relative to “All-That-Is,” aka “God.”
Many are coming to realize we are individually moving toward operating with whatever global or holistic awareness we’ve embraced, applied the best we’re able within local conditions, cooperating with the natural process of our everyday existence using the natural synergy of group interactivity.
The magnetics of the process is assisting us to meet those we could dance with if the synergy is there. This has been boosted from mid-March through early July 2008 by the ongoing Saturn quadranovile to Uranus, helping us select or reject those relationships that are spiritually compatible or not. This is helping us recognize our community. No comments
I am a seeker and gatherer of information, and to that end I endeavor to uncover the truth.
With all the info on the Mayan Calendar and just simple facts about the state of our world, I have a tendency to go into fear, even though I want to have hope, the odds can be overwhelming.
These odds have deeply disturbed me:
Since 1950, we have lost 1/3 of all forests, ¼ of our topsoil and 1/5 of our farmland.
Over the past 100 years, we have lost ¼ of all species of plants and animals; at present rates, by the end of this century ½ of all species that live on Earth will be gone forever.
In our oceans, 2/3 of the world’s fisheries are over fished.
In the past 150 years, we have raised carbon levels in the atmosphere by 30%
We usurp and divert 55% of all fresh-water flows.
2 billion people live on less than $2 a day.
2 billion people have no electricity and use firewood to cook.
2 billion people lack sanitation, and 2.3 billion have no clean water
Nearly a billion people are severely malnourished or starving.
By the time we reach 2050, we will need to feed, clothe, house, and employ nearly twice the number of people that are on Earth today. We will need to provide for a new world. –excerpted from the book Imagine
And you know what? I am starting to believe that magic can really happen and in 50 years we will no longer pollute our planet, people will have meaningful work, people will throw off tyranny, we will be a connected world and aware, or better yet, awake, and we will see what needs to be done and we will do it.
Our planet is awakening and that goes for its peoples too……….every movement you make in the direction of healing yourself, your life and all around you is creating this change. No movement is too small.
Even if you are just “considering” that organic might be better, you are part of the healing of us all.
The information is everywhere on how to help. Start by helping yourself and stop as much pollution as you can. Demand safer products and locally grown produce, chickens, eggs, beef, honey etc.
Now is the time for hope after despair, now is the time for you to step up and take your place in healing the planet.
We can do it, we will do it, it is happening already.

“A University of Chicago study stated that going vegetarian does more to combat greenhouse gas emissions than trading in your gas guzzler for a hybrid. Also, a 2006 United Nations report noted that the meat industry produces more greenhouse gases than do all forms of transportation combined!”No comments
2012-What does that mean? I was reading my favorite astrologers blog today and found this interpretation, quite good I thought! Sue
Though the period confronting us is in fact one of many squares and oppositions (another way to measure time!), we can position ourselves intelligently to deal with whatever arises in our experience. We are Eternals with the power to shape and re-shape our physical, emotional, and mental realities. Because we confront what appears to be an era of great upheavals, it is a period when we can step “out of time” and view our evolving Self in an altered time stream. There are many ways to position ourselves in any time continuum.
For those who live in the NOW, regardless of all the predictions across time, 2012 is in fact just another number that follows what we call 2011 and precedes 2013. It is the human interpretations around that number, some of supposedly great importance, that gets us all worked up. True, it marks one of many important points in time for evolving humanity, as do the years preceding and succeeding 2012. But in the grand scheme of things, there are also other points in past and future time which are of even greater import for humanity.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of fear and drama around the number 2012, with many ominous predictions floating around the global brain. This is generated by glamor, which as you know is a world problem. Many confirm their fears by searching for that which seems to be associated with the dramatic predictions. However, this fear and drama is useless wheel spinning if we are to position ourselves intelligently, lovingly, and wisely for the experiences we confront over the next several thousand days.
It is natural for we humans to fear the end of our familiar perceptual reality, since we learned that response eons ago. However, we have now reached a point where a sense of things ending is a constant (and an inevitability!) in our experience of our Age in Transition. Due to many factors, some geophysical and some simply the time of the Initiation of the World and all its sentient Beings, there is a collective quickening.
This is a prelude to a new perceptual reality awakening in those who strive to know the unknown. It is occurring everywhere in individuals who have cultivated such things in prior “beginnings.” But we do not live in a vacuum, and are far more sensitive to the collective consciousness than we suspect. This gives rise to the challenge of not allowing any form of fear, glamor, or sense of separateness, specialness, or self-importance to distort our experience of what is actually another gateway to unknown possibilities, individually and collectively.
There can be no activity in our impermanent reality that doesn’t at some point transmute into some other state of Being. That’s the end of an era, whether in a microsecond or a millennium. In the Eternal NOW, where experience is truly experienced rather than measured, everything that seems to BE is in constantly changing vibratory states. These are all transitions from one nature of Being to whatever other nature of Being arises
Eras end, whether in personal life or the life of nations. If something ends, it leaves a void which is naturally filled by whatever still has potential. That which has potential usually “begins” at some point in what we call “the past,” since existence, being a continuum, doesn’t arise spontaneously. All forms arise from seeds of prior cyclic manifestations.
Since we are part of Nature, perhaps we can learn about larger cycles of time and change by studying Her as the one who brings forth forms in our reality. If we look at Nature, we observe that in her infinite abundance all things arise from “seed forms” as well as prior existing roots. These grow, are refined by experience across time, and eventually come to an end as that form uses up its potential.
Eons are the same way. The continuum of time we’re moving through right now constitutes a period after the old seeds have dropped and the plant form is dying in this “Winter of the 21st Century.” The seeds lay dormant until awakened by heat, after which they will sprout into new life if the conditions are ripe and those who tend the garden are diligent, both in nurturing and protecting that which is growing.
2012 is the midpoint of the Winter of the 21st Century. After that point the life force will again become stronger, and natural conditions occur that will foster the growth of the beginnings of our new Era. We’ve already passed through the densest Round and Globe of this Earth’s larger evolutionary arc, and are solidly streaking into the Dwapara Yuga, where we will remember more than we can imagine.
The electromagnetic nature of Creation and Life is revealing itself moment by moment, week by week, year by year, century by century. An era of miracles and wonder is on the way. We just have to get through this part of the night that precedes the dawn. For many who position themselves accordingly, it won’t be that bad, despite the bad news all around for some time to come.

Beyond the realm of simple and verifiable facts, the certainty that “I am right and you are wrong” is a dangerous thing in personal relationships as well as in interactions between nations, tribes, religions, and so on.
But if the belief “I am right; you are wrong” is one of the ways in which the ego strengthens itself, if making yourself right and others wrong is a mental dysfunction that perpetuates separation and conflict between human beings, does that mean there is no such thing as right or wrong behavior, action, or belief? And wouldn’t that be the moral relativism that some contemporary Christian teachings see as the great evil of our times?
The history of Christianity is, of course, a prime example of how the belief that you are in sole possession of the truth, that is to say, right, can corrupt your actions and behavior to the point of insanity. For centuries, torturing and burning people alive if their opinion diverged even in the slightest from Church doctrine or narrow interpretations of scripture (the “Truth”) was considered right because the victims were “wrong”. They were so wrong that they needed to be killed. The Truth was considered more important than human life. And what was the Truth? A story you had to believe in; which means, a bundle of thoughts.
The one million people that mad dictator Pol Pot of Cambodia ordered killed included everybody who wore glasses. Why? To him, the Marxist interpretation of history was the absolute truth, and according to his version of it, those who wore glasses belonged to the educated class, the bourgeoisie, the exploiters of the peasants. They needed to be eliminated to make room for a new social order. His truth also was a bundle of thoughts.
There is only one Truth, and all other truths emanate from it. When you find that Truth, your actions will be in alignment with it.
The Truth is inseparable from who you are. Yes, you are the Truth. If you look for it elsewhere, you will be deceived every time. The very Being that you are is Truth. Jesus tried to convey that when he said, “I am the way and the truth and the life”. These words uttered by Jesus are one of the most powerful and direct pointers to the Truth, if understood correctly.
Some Christian mystics have called it the Christ within; Buddhists call it your Buddha nature, for Hindus, it is Atman, the indwelling God. When you are in touch with that nature within yourself – and being in touch with it is your natural state – al your actions and relationships will reflect the oneness with all life.
This is Love. Laws, commandments, rules, and regulations are necessary for those who are cut off from who they are, the Truth within. They prevent the worst excesses of the go, and often they don’t even do that.
“Love and do what you will”, said St. Augustine. Words cannot get much closer to the Truth than that. –Eckhart ToelleNo comments

“The greatest part of most people’s thinking is involuntary, automatic, and repetitive. It is no more than a kind of mental static and fulfills no real purpose. Strictly speaking, you don’t think: Thanking happens to you. The statement ‘I think’ implies volition. It implies that you have a say in the matter, that there is choice involved on your part. For most people, this is not yet the case. ‘I think’ is just as false a statement as ‘I digest’ or ‘I circulate my blood.’ Digestion happens, circulation happens, thinking happens.
The voice in the head has a life of its own. Most people are at the mercy of that voice; they are possessed by thought, by the mind. And since the mind is conditioned by the past, you are then forced to reenact the past again and again. The Eastern term for this is karma. When you are identified with that voice, you don’t know this, of course. If you knew it, you would no longer be possessed because you are only truly possessed when you mistake the possessing entity for who you are, that is to say, when you become it.” -Eckhart Tolle
…justifying of self is blaming someone else.
Edgar Cayce Reading 2803-2
I was in a situation last week with a friend where I was really called on the carpet about something in relation to our friendship. Put me through a lot of that deep internal dialogue and looking at the self and seeing maybe I could have handled that better.
Then came the justifying……the bolstering up of the small ego so that it feels justified in its actions. Of course blame set in and some irritation/anger that this was more her problem than mine taking me out of the “hot seat” of responsibility for my part.
I’m very much into healing my ego these days. I want to be friends with it and love it and ask it to own its part in this evolving life in a healthy way. I’m asking my ego to be aligned with my Soul. Gentle flow of ego aligning in the Light……..mmmm, just writing that I can feel a soft silky energy filling my body. I think a healthy ego is a blessing. No comments
I began re-reading my blog back to August 2006 and found this little ditty and many, many more so thought I’d share some of the old thoughts that are still new:
“Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.
He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither”. -Benjamin Franklin
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about everything; the world, our country, cities, farms, people, families and such.
I was thinking about cookies and pop and what an impact they have had on our society. Holidays are for treats, holidays and special occasions. Every summer when it gets really, really hot, there is nothing like a Pepsi over cold ice. I have one every year. During Christmas, what could be better than the old family recipes of fudge, divinity, Christmas cookies etc. I wait eagerly all year long for those treats.
Indulgences make the body soft and weak. Just like a country that gives up freedom for security. When the body gives up staples (whole grains, vegetables, fruits) for treats (sugar, fats, white flour) it cannot do the job required; a strong immune system, a happy mind, all parts in balance.
You could say our bodies are a reflection of our country. Too many treats and not enough staples.
“The ego tends to equate having with Being. I have, therefore I am. And the more I have, the more I am. The ego lives through comparison. How you are seen by others turns into how you see yourself. If everyone lived in a mansion or everyone was wealthy, your mansion or your wealth would no longer serve to enhance your sense of self.
You could then move to a simple cabin, give up your wealth, and regain an identity by seeing yourself and being seen as more spiritual than others. How you are seen by others becomes the mirror that tells you what you are like and who you are. The ego’s sense of self-worth is in most cases bound up with the worth you have in the eyes of others. You need others to give you a sense of self, and if you live in a culture that to a large extent equates self-worth with how much and what you have, if you cannot look through this collective delusion, you will be condemned to chasing after things for the rest of your life in the vain hope of finding your worth and completion of your sense of self there.
How do you let go of attachment to things? Don’t even try. It’s impossible. Attachment to things drops away by itself when you no longer seek to find yourself in them. In the meantime, just be aware of your attachment to things. Sometimes you may not know that you are attached to something, which is to say, identified, until you lose it or there is the threat of loss. If you then become upset, anxious, and so on, it means you are attached. If you are aware that you are identified with a thing, the identification is no longer total. ‘I am the awareness that is aware that there is attachment.’ That’s the beginning of the transformation of consciousness.” -TolleNo comments
