Archive for September, 2010
Due to frolicking Venus and Mars, the Moon starting in Cancer and moving into Leo, it may prove to be high drama this weekend. At times you may feel pulled in the direction of urgency only to flip that over to complacency. Relax, unwind, let go of plans and flow with whatever is happening.
Saturday might be good to mow the lawn or get into some physical work that utilizes this energy in an easier way on the body. The nervous stress could be intense, but that is also usable in whatever creative endeavor you are working on.
All in all there is an exciting energy this weekend that could make a trip into the country quite enjoyable. It’s October and harvest time-take a trip to a local Apple Orchard or Pumpkin Patch!
In an earlier post I commented on how the last part of September might be a little difficult for some. It’s the Sun (vital life force) squaring Pluto (regeneration after death). It’s a powerful mix of energies that can make one feel turned inside out. Whether you understand astrology or not you can feel the buzz in the air.
I’m including what Robert Wilkinson says about the past weeks:
“The last several weeks have shown us how to surrender to a greater Grace in our life. We now are challenged to be straightforward and honest about this. The more we can see things as they really are while finding what we honestly care about the better.
It’s a time to find direct, authentic, and unedited ways to become more fully aware of the larger changes that have been happening for the past year. These continue to lead us all to greater lives, so do whatever you must do to demonstrate individualized new forms of self expression.
In any case, show caution and think deeply about what changes are in the air, and stabilize your feelings by remembering what’s valuable.”

I found this wonderful little discourse on the Equinoxes that I thought I would share with you all this morning.
Some Equinox Thoughts
“Yesterday as I was waiting for a train to bring me into work, I saw out of the corner of my eye this leaf with a cocoon of some creature in it. As I looked around at the trees turning colours I was struck by the imminent Equinox and what that means. At the moment of Equinox, night and day, light and dark appear the same. Then slowly, some of us will be heading towards spring, with everything sprouting, bursting out, growing towards the light and Summer. On the other side of the world, many of us will be taking stock, watching the leaves fall, then rot, heading towards the inevitable dark of Winter. Again polarities, where one person is experiencing Spring another is experiencing Autumn, both are there -opposites yet simultaneous. Thinking about this it reminds me that our world is full of so many experiences all happening at the same time. To really take part in the adventure of awakening it is important to remember this – both in times of the most radiant shining light and in times of deep darkness.” -Tim FrekkeNo comments
Well, we certainly have a powerhouse of energies and some of you may experience an unpredictable zap from this. My personal zap was a radiator blowing to the tune of $500, ouch!
Run……run……run…….and the energies are behind you with a whip! It will be easy to forget things or drop things in all the commotion so do be careful and keep both hands on the wheel.
An Aries Full Moon can be very inspiring and motivate you to try new ways of expressing and enjoying your life. It can also help blow out the dusty old stuck energies you keep dragging around by causing small explosions that get your attention.
The Libra Sun just began and this is our time to say farewell to summer and step into the reality of Fall. Libra and Aries are opposite each other and create their own set of major attraction. Added to this is the steamy Venus/Mars conjunction in Scorpio and you may find an exciting new lover or fight with someone close to you. Many ego clashes are around, so tiptoe quietly if you see one.
The Equinox is about balance as is Libra. Good time to find your balance amidst the turmoil. That could be a new meditation practice or a stronger focusing on what is in front of you to do.
Hope the clouds clear so we can see the lovely Moon tonight and if the rain stops there may be a fire ritual in the woods behind my house! I’ve invited the woodsprights and the owls……..you can come too! A Celebration in the center of chaos can ground and support you. Howling at the Moon is good too! HOWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLL
I will be leading a Peace Meditation for 30 minutes after Yoga tonight at 7:00 pm at The Morning Star Center.
Meditate for World Peace
by Robert Wilkinson
Today, September 21, groups and individuals everywhere are committing to 15-minute periods in prayer or meditation for world peace. This is a worldwide movement to create a global ceasefire and further the ideal of peace and nonviolence. If you’re interested, keep reading.
We are told this is an attempt to create a pulse of invocative energy from meditators all over the planet. Visualize this as a rhythmic call to Divinity for the Light, Love and Spiritual Will needed to assist humanity to bring forth a culture of lasting peace. This initiative is just one small part of a much wider concentration of prayers and meditations for peace from spiritual and faith-based groups in all parts of the world.
SouledOut.org is holding a meditative space between 9-9:15 pm PDT on this day, and will sound The Great Invocation at both the beginning and end of this time period. You are welcome to participate in this meditation and sounding of The Great Invocation at this time, even if you’re in a different time zone. By all means, please meditate throughout the day as you are inspired.
This Vigil began at midnight on the morning of Tuesday, September 21 in whatever time zone you live, and ends at midnight your time Tuesday night.
If you’re in Europe and want to tune in on the California meditation, that would be 5-5:15 am in the UK, 6-6:15 am in France, Germany, Netherlands, and other countries in that time zone, 9:30 am in India, and 2 pm in east Australia.
Since we’ve tried war for millennia and it hasn’t worked so well for humanity, maybe it’s time to try peace for a while. Aum and blessings….
The Great Invocation is a universal prayer given to humanity by a Great One. Most religions believe in a World Teacher or Saviour, knowing this Light Giver by such names as the Christ, the Lord Maitreya, the Imam Mahdi, the Bodhisattva, and the Messiah. Where Christ is invoked in this prayer, please use your faith’s name for the World Teacher.
Here is the version of The Great Invocation that I’ve been using for 34 years:
From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of all
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of all
May Christ return to Earth
From the center where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of all
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power
Restore the Plan on Earth. Aum.

Today I was starting to go down that path of seeing the world as filled with wrongdoings that need to be righted.
And as serendipity came in during my morning meditation I was reminded of how important it is to look to myself first. To be careful that I use a discriminating wisdom when I view life.
My marker now is when I become righteously indignant to follow an AA teaching of “fearless moral inventory”.
This is to see clearly. Recognizing our own wrongdoings to self and others first before rushing out to cure the world.
Jack Kornfield talks about having to end our isolation by seeing and telling the difficult truth to ourselves and to one another, but always in the spirit of compassion, and in the knowledge of interconnection. We have to learn that we can trust the truth and that the truth will lead to freedom.
To see without any harsh judgment. Knowing that any teaching has its wisdom and its folly and to be able to sift through and take what is best for us. This means we are not looking for perfection, but willing to see both sides.
I am taking this view into how raped our country has become by vast corporations. Learning all I can about what is actually going on, why this has occurred and how to change that in me which created it.
Found this great quote and it really fits with me today: “The world we are experiencing today is the result of our collective consciousness, and if we want a new world, each of us must start taking responsibility for helping create it.” — Rosemary Fillmore RheaNo comments
Jupiter is close to the earth right now and if the sky is clear you wil see it shining brightly. Jupiter is having a hayday with Uranus bringing unexpected change into our lives.
Today the Moon (emotions) briefly conjuncts Neptune (mystic/creative) and Chiron (wounds) is one degree away. A triple opportunity to feel and heal.
The Fall Equinox lies between the 22nd & 23rd of this month. Wikipedia states: An equinox occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the center of the Sun being in the same plane as the Earth’s equator. The term equinox can also be used in a broader sense, meaning the date when such a passage happens. The name “equinox” is derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), because around the equinox, the night and day are approximately equally long. It may be better understood to mean that latitudes +L and -L north and south of the Equator experience nights of equal length.
This years Equinox occurs with the Moon (nurturing) at the end of Pisces (spirituality) and quite Full. Venus (women) and Mars (men) are doing a tango in sexy Scorpio. Should prove to be a very interesting point in time.
I always find it rewarding to partake of some form of ritual or ceremony during the Equinoxes and Solstices. This particular combination of planets suggests more of a primal celebration involving drums and dancing. It is the harvest after all, lets us all celebrate before the dark of winter closes her arms around us and we longingly dream of the verdant Spring.
Big stuff with Uranus (change/unpredictability). Uranus is inspirational and demands you to try something new, whether that be a new way of thinking or changing residence etc. Now that is has gone back into Pisces and conjuncted (close-adds power) Jupiter again, we get to revisit last Spring and see how we are doing with the changes we are making.
Tuesday the 21st heralds an auspicious opposition (fight or dance) to the Sun (vital life force). This can be a challenging time for all and many will have to choose wisely in how they are reacting to the circumstances of their lives.
Following is a Full Moon in Aries on Thursday. My friend, Robert Wilkinson has this to say about how the Moon has been affecting us all: “Each time the Moon moves through Capricorn (Sept 16-18-Oct 14-16-Nov 10-12) it triggers past and present conjunctions of Pluto with the Galactic Center. This has been releasing influences beyond comprehension (but not experiencing!) of 250 year transformational seeds of Galactic patterns into form. We’ve launched a new quarter millennium the past few years!” (www.aquariuspapers.com)
By the time 9/30 gets here you will be glad to see September end as Saturn will conjunct the Sun and narrow everyones focus to the task at hand and probably a few will find themselves pretty grouchy. However, if you have some big job to focus on you will be dogged in your persistence to complete or resolve whatever it is.
Lots of opportunity for changing into who you desire to be….just make sure you have a plan!
I was going to write about Uranus conjunct Jupiter in Pisces and a few more “happenings”, when it struck me that what we all need to be focusing on now is service to a higher spirit. So, I’m throwing all the aspects/transits and astro jargon of the day into this message from the Universe.
Where is your service energy? How are you developing a deeper connection to your higher self? To truly know something we need to study it. What is our higher spirit? To know that, look at all of your best actions. The kind word to someone in need; the compassion that opens your heart for others in pain; donations that give others hope and a chance; choosing to understand your own pain and not act from it, I could go on and I’m sure you could too.
What we have help for now is to realize that this life is made best by following our highest nature to do good in the world and in our lives. Today, with so many planets stirring the pot, step up and do your best. Let your loving kindness lead the way and others will follow. You have no idea how your actions help others to be better also.
We can all breathe a sigh of relief this evening as Mercury leaves its retrograde pattern and goes direct. The confusion, misunderstandings and delays that have been going on the past few weeks will lessen considerably. Now you can start to move forward, but do it slowly, we are still under the snare of the retrograde for a few more days. Speed for taking action will increase daily, enjoy the movement!
Tomorrow Pluto goes direct after a 5 month retograde period. Pluto’s powerhouse energies for transformation have been idling loudly in whatever house it sits in your chart. I have had it in the 12th house and the research I have been able to accomplish during this time has been phenomenal! The world has it in the 10th of Destiny and Achievement. We are under the enormous and radical call for change and rebirth not only on our global level but our own individual level. Now that this power is unleashed again look to make deeper changes across the board and do be kind to others remembering that we are all being remade into a higher state and that can create some challenging communications and actions.
When feisty Mars moves into Scorpio on Tuesday it brings added fire and forward momentum to the mix. Use it in an enthusiastic way, stay positive and motivated and move towards your outcomes. If you’ve neglected your goals lately, Mars will help you make up for lost time.
We have a lot of intense energy with Pluto, Mars and of course Scorpio. What does it all mean? Dying to the old dead, stuck, depressing past so that we can regenerate into a brave new world both interiorly and exteriorly.
Today lovely Venus enters Scorpio, putting a whole new twist on her feminine nature. Now she becomes possessive and hints at a jealous nature. Venus in Scorpio isn’t exactly happy but she sure is passionate! Check your desires during this long rein or you might succomb to a few and even be taken advantage of.
On the 15th when lusty Mars moves into Scorpio passion takes on a new meaning and there is little time for rest. Mars in Scorpio is a firebrand of activity and when coupled with Venus the two lovers excite, promote and are not that easy to handle.
If you aren’t in a relationship and not even looking, you could be surprised by a very interesting, passionate, albeit short termed, relationship. On the other hand it could just mean your friends and co-workers won’t be that easy to get along with. Energy and passion without an outlet can explode or implode.
I’m going to use this energy to create more beautiful jewelry and entertain myself with some new activities probably write a few new classes. I see this as a very creative time, hope you all get to take advantage of that and have some fun too!
Motivated for change would be good as long as you are taking those action steps required for real change.
We have a lovely/brief Sun, Moon & Mercury conjunction adding all sorts of reasons for each of us to sort through and eliminate and begin anew. Tomorrow lovely Venus who has been in her own sign of Libra which has smoothed this Mercury retro immensely, moves into her dark side of Scorpio. I love Shadow work and Venus in Scorpio is intense Shadow work. This would be a good time to heal any addictions as the inclination will be to slide deeper into them rationalizing that said addictions are giving you something you need. While true, a counselor whether astrological or traditional can help steer you through what potentially could be some pretty rocky shoals. On the other hand, sex gets pretty hot when Venus visits Scorpio and that’s a nice indulgence. She will stay in Scorpio till November 8th, slide back into Libra till 11/30 and back into Scorpio till January 7. During these next few months remember to use the intensity in productive ways. Venus rules all that is lovely, fair and beautiful seeking ever to nurture and lift up out of the darkness. Scorpio revels in the dark so get set for some interesting adventures. More later.
It’s been very thought provoking this first week in September due to an Inferior Conjunction of the Sun (vital life force) to our Mercury (Winged Messenger from the Gods to Earth) retrograde. Much planning and re-working of ideas and hopefully some pretty inspirational thoughts to help you change or stay the course of your life.
Robert Wilkinson says; “The next four months are a time to dream, with precision, how we would want our inherited tendencies to manifest in practical ways. Seek your Inner Light and its ideals and dreams for what It would want to see as reality. Or conversely, through the retrograde lens see how this has shaped what has happened in your life.
Examine your inherited traits, and draw on the strength of what is inherent in you as a result of your Soul’s state of awareness. Be creative in engineering your Soul’s dreams or ideals into reality.” He also states we will be working off these energies for the nest four months. -www.aquariuspapers.com
Along with all the miscommunications that are traditional with any Mercury retrograde cycle, the last minute changes and re-routings that occur, it truly has been a time of Divine Inspriation. If you haven’t tapped into that yet, you still have time till the 12th.
Many wonderful changes will be seen after this time. Personally, I have a new logo and a new place and soon a new website coming! Very exciting times filled with great mental energy, get ready to launch after the 12th!
A New Moon during a Mercury retrograde is pause for thought. Virgo wants to heal all that is out of balance and this New Moon will have a stern companion, Saturn, who has been heavily weighing the scales of Justice. So, if you want the best for this particular time, it would be wise to be a little “nit picky” (not that we all won’t be) and take care of bothersome details. If you are going to clean out any closets, be extra thorough, you might be surprised by what you find is able to come into your life after a thorough cleansing. You can take that to just about any level.
New Moons are the time to also “plant seeds” of what you would like to have in your life. Here is a little taste of what each sign can expect:
ARIES-This is the time for great planning on what you want to work at. Very good time to set up a diet/exercise program.
TAURUS-New beginnings are possible with your children, do you need to let go or be more involved? Take some time to relax.
GEMINI-Home is on your mind and you are busy making plans for big changes in that area. Your Mom might need a visit from you.
CANCER-Organize your mind and your life will follow. Write everything down and communicate clearly, people will hear you now.
LEO-Some old or new talent needs a little planning, or maybe take a class. Your money is good if you are thrifty.
VIRGO-Potent New Moon for you, dream big, be thorough and move forward after the 12th to realize that by the Full Moon on the 23rd dreams really do come true.
LIBRA-Messages are coming in from your Guides, meditate and pay attention. You could be involved in a little karmic drama but it will clear up fast.
SCORPIO-Call on your friends for help with any group you are working with, make plans and implement on the Full Moon 9/23.
SAGITTARIUS-If you have been waiting for recognition in your career sector, start showing your stuff and people will notice. You may hear of promising news at months end.
CAPRICORN-You have a very noble higher mind and one with great boundaries. This time will open you to an even higher dimension of yourself.
AQUARIUS-The leader of our New Age is you and this New Moon will deepen you in unexpected ways. The mysteries are opening your mind.
PISCES-The New Moon calls you to pay attention to your closest partners. Nurture and lavish them with your attention now and you will be greatly rewarded months end.
